Half the House

Here are pictures showing half of the house with some of its' decor. Be sure to let us know what you like and don't like!

On the left is our new couch that we love. We are still trying to decide what to hang on the wall above the other couch. Any suggestions? We are thinking about three large panels of our own creation.

Here is the dust catcher above the couch and next to the arch. The lights are hooked to a switch making it really easy for us. The other neat part is how each piece of decor up there has a story behind it.

We love the crown trim and how it really makes things look awesome...

The elephant on the left is probably my favorite piece up there. The "A" on the light was attached with some garbage twist ties and looks great.

We debated for a half hour on what height to hang the metal piece. If we went higher it competed with our portrait shot (heaven forbid) and if we went lower, it was only visible from the front of the stairwell.

Our clock in the kitchen is awesome, and the art on the right side was an original creation from a cabinet door from the "As is" section of IKEA, some left over burlap from our curtains, and a reflective candle holder from Ross.

Whitney loves burlap and its' heavy texture, so we made our curtains ourselves to get exactly what we wanted. The let lots of light in, yet protect us from peeping eyes.

We're still struggling to finish the upper above the pantry. The space is so huge and deep, it's hard to find pieces that can hold their own.

Here is the office. It might also be a shrine unto us and our wedding day. At the open house in Idaho, we had large poster prints of us hung all around the perimeter of the party. We couldn't just throw them away... So now you get the stare down from all directions in the office. Excuse the mess, it's a work in progress.

This bathroom has been fun to finish. We took our old shower curtain from our last house and had to shorten it by 10 inches to accomodate the new height. We wanted to hang the curtain from the ceiling again, but the new curved shower rod looked funny from such a high position and actually ate up a lot of the room with the curve. The hand towel holder is actually a plate holder. The other wall in the bathroom will have an awesome addition as soon as we finish it, so we'll keep you updated.

Here are the panels right above our bed. When we finish the decor in our master, we will post more pics.

This is probably my favorite room in the whole house. The guest bedroom was fun to finish with all the green and black goodies we had to put in it. The bead board wall really made everything pop and the hanging lights made and awesome accent.
